LOS ANGELES — Apple is moving on up to a hip San Francisco district for some of its staff.
So says a report in the San Francisco Business Times, which says the iconic device maker will be renting more than 75,000 square feet of office space in the South of Market area of San Francisco, at 235 Second St.
At the same time, Apple is constructing a new 2.8 million-square foot campus in Cupertino, Calif., it's longtime home base.
San Francisco is home to many internet companies, including Twitter, Pinterest and Path, while the Silicon Valley is home to Apple, Google and Facebook.
Many employees commute from San Francisco, so having a hometown option for employees could be popular.
