Hulu has acquired exclusive subscription video on-demand (SVOD) rights to Fox's smash hit 'Empire' starring Terrence Howard.

Now that Season 1 of Fox's smash hit Empire has come to an end, the Lyons have found a new home on Hulu.

Hulu has acquired exclusive subscription video-on demand (SVOD) rights to Empire. Starting Thursday, Hulu Plus subscribers will be able to stream all episodes of the series, which wrapped up its first season Wednesday night with a two-hour finale. All future episodes will be available the day after initial broadcast on Fox.

"Empire is truly a television phenomenon. Empire's story lines and music continue to dominate the popular culture conversation each week. Since its premiere, the series has remained one of the top shows on Hulu and we are ecstatic to be the exclusive streaming home to the biggest show of the year," Craig Erwich, Hulu's senior vice president and head of content, said in a statement.

The drama, which stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, premiered on Jan 7. Empire has continued to build its audience every week. It's the Fox network's No. 1 drama.

Fox renewed Empire for a second season Jan. 17, just three days after the second episode aired.
