When West Virginia plays Texas A&M on Monday in the Autozone Liberty Bowl, the Mountaineers will be without senior quarterback Clint Trickett, who announced on Friday that he’s retiring from the game after suffering five concussions over the last 14 months. Trickett, who passed for more than 3,200 yards this season, was forced to leave West Virginia’s loss to Kansas State on November 20th and did not play in the regular-season finale. Trickett admitted that he hid at least two injuries from the West Virginia training staff and simply tried to play through it. Trickett, who plans on becoming a football coach, thanked West Virginia fans for their support on Twitter.
