Pebble's passive-aggressive response to #AppleWatch is perfect
Pebble, a smartwatch company that had a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign earlier this year for its Pebble Time watch, tuned in to watch the Apple Watch event today.
Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the debut of the much-anticipated Apple Watch, a direct competitor to the Pebble watch.
But Pebble was ready to shut it all down on Twitter.
First, they started slow, retweeting some passive-aggressive photos.
When Apple announced ResearchKit, Pebble had these tweets at the ready to show how it was already advancing medical research.
Pebble pointed out Apple's style choices...
And showed them up with the (kind of creepy) Mickey Mouse watch face.
Like the rest of us, Pebble balked at the Apple Watch Edition's price tag.
They also retweeted some major Twitter snark.
And some people seemed to really like it.
But they put all their differences aside to talk about what really mattered.
Well-played, Pebble. Well-played.
