The 12 most luxurious hotel suites in Europe

Jane Reynolds
Oyster.com

There are fancy hotels, and then there are luxurious hotels — and many of Europe's five-pearl properties fall into the latter category. Oyster.com reviewers have visited hundreds of them, and found themselves in quite a few stunningly beautiful suites that are dazzling even by over-the-top standards. From Paris to Budapest, here are a dozen amazingly luxurious European hotel suites.

Prague Suite at Blakes Hotel, London

A sexy lair hidden beneath the first floor of Blakes, the Prague Suite is decked out in lush grays and golds. The ornate vibe, created by a mix of mirrors and chandeliers, continues to the bathroom, complete with a deep marble soaking tub. Since the Prague is one of the property's Signature Suites, guests staying here can also enjoy exclusive amenities such as a free one-way airport transfer, fresh daily flowers, free breakfast and free minibar snacks.

Suite Peninsula at The Peninsula Paris

The Suite Peninsula is the largest one-bedroom suite in all of Paris. The massive suite includes his-and-hers dressing rooms and bathrooms, along with two separate powder rooms, a living room with a grand piano, a formal dining room and of course, an impressive foyer. Additional perks, reserved for select suites, range from free movies and Wi-Fi to chauffeur service in a MINI Cooper.

Corner Suite at CVK Hotels & Resorts Park Bosphorus, Istanbul

Overlooking the Bosphorus and the city of Istanbul, the Corner Suite at CVK Park Bosphorus features similar — but slightly more elevated — decor to the other rooms and suites at this huge luxury property. Aside from the sweeping views, highlights include a sexy round bed, an exposed deep soaking tub, a bathroom with an ornate his-and-hers vanity and Bulgari toiletries, and high-tech amenities.

Suite at Santa Caterina Hotel, Amalfi Coast

The suite here, which features a whirlpool tub, exposed brick and various antiques, isn't nearly as over-the-top luxe as the others that make this list, but it lands a spot thanks to its stunning views of the Amalfi sea. Guests of the suite can take advantage of the wellness center, exclusive swimming pool access and on-site gym.

Stue Suite at Das Stue, Berlin

The three sleek Stue Suites at Das Stue have a modern vibe that's nonetheless sexy. Aside from Tiergarten views, free minibar goodies and laundry service, and lounge areas, all have deep tin soaking tubs that sit near the beds. And of course, technology is top-notch; amenities include free Wi-Fi and Apple entertainment systems.

Royal Suite at The St. Regis Florence

The suites at The St. Regis Florence are over-the-top ornate and, just a step below the Presidential Suite, the Royal Suite here is certainly luxe. Themed to reflect the Court of Medici style, the spacious suite is adorned with coffered stenciled ceilings, rich curtains, a canopied bed and various antiques. The bathroom, on the other hand, has a more modern — yet nonetheless lavish — vibe with marble tiling, a his-and-hers vanity and a deep soaking tub. A balcony overlooks the Arno River, and exclusive amenities include high-tech in-room gadgets and butler service.

Penthouse at Abac Barcelona

Housed in buildings designed by renowned architect Antoni De Moragas, and declared an official Barcelona monument, Abac has a wonderful location and a handful of luxe suites — with the Penthouse being the crème de la crème. On the top floor, this spacious suite is completely soundproofed, and updated with high-tech gadgets, such as an iPad, remote-controlled lights and blinds, a large flat-screen TV and high-speed Wi-Fi, throughout the sleek, white-on-white space. The highlight, however, is the massive rooftop with city views and a whirlpool.

Royal Suite at Four Seasons Hotel Gresham, Budapest

A step above even the hotel's two Presidential Suites, the Royal Suite at the Four Seasons in Budapest is truly stunning in its refined elegance — and those views of the Danube certainly don't hurt. Aside from the gorgeous interiors — a marble bathroom, sitting room with fireplace, formal dining room and fresh flowers galore — exclusive perks include free airport transfers and butler service.

Junior Suite at Hotel Les Armures, Geneva

At the five-pearl Hotel Les Armures, Junior Suites are the top option among accommodations — and they have a sexy, ski chalet vibe that makes them particularly cozy, even during cold Geneva winters. Even George Clooney has stayed in one! Outfitted with wood-beamed ceilings, faux-fur throws and stone walls, the Junior Suites come with amenities such as fresh fruit, chocolates, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, and free Wi-Fi.

Imperial Suite at Hotel Principe Di Savoia, Milan

Since the 1920s, the Principe Di Savoia has held an undisputed position as Milan's top luxury hotel. While the Presidential Suite here, complete with an indoor pool, is the most over-the-top, we really love the Imperial Suite, with it's elegant, yet livable, style. Renowned architect Celeste Dell’Anna designed the suite, which overlooks the Piazza della Repubblica Gardens and features lovely details such as a mosaic above the deep soaking tub and stunning artwork and antiques in the sitting room. The royal treatment for guests starts upon their arrival to Milan; the hotel provides those staying in the Imperial Suite with free airport transfers, welcome bottles of Krug champagne and free Wi-Fi.

Imperial Suite at Shangri-La Hotel Paris

Once the private apartment of French prince and president Roland Bonaparte, the Imperial Suite at the Shangri-La is truly jaw-dropping — and pays homage to its former resident with Rococo-esque decor; picture gold-trimmed ceilings, dripping chandeliers, marble fireplaces and massive windows framed by lush curtains. A private balcony overlooks the Place d’Iéna, and interiors include a master bedroom, dressing room, living room, dining room, pantry and two bathrooms with mist-free mirrors and heated floors.

Royal Suite at Hotel Villa Magna, Madrid

The views from the Royal Suite's terrace are stunning, overlooking Madrid, include Paseo de la Castellana and Serrano Street. But interiors are just as impressive and outfitted with lovely artifacts and notable artwork, plush furniture, a marble fireplace, fresh flowers and a grand piano. Exclusive perks for guests of the Royal Suite include personal butlers, airport transfers and delivery of local and international newspapers.
