Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin hit two milestones with one wicked shot Tuesday night.

He ripped a shot past Carolina Hurricanes goalie Cam Ward for his 50th goal of the season and the 472nd of his career. That tied him with Peter Bondra for the Capitals’ all-time lead.

Ovechkin hit the 50-goal mark for the sixth time in his 10-season career. He’ll likely be the only one to get the milestone this season. Tampa Bay’s Steven Stamkos and the New York Rangers’ Rick Nash are next with 40 each.

As a sign of Ovechkin’s dominance, there have been a total of only 13 other 50-goal seasons since he entered the league in 2005-06.
