F1 driver's engine fails at the most perfect time imaginable

On the spectrum of engine failures, it’s tough to beat the timing on this one. With 200 meters left on his 57th and final lap, Daniel Ricciardo’s engine failed just as he was approaching the Bahrain Grand Prix finish line. Luckily, the momentum he had built-up carried him him so he didn’t sacrifice his sixth place finish  — but only just.

Engine failures have been coming a major problem for Ricciardo who will move onto his fourth new engine of the season, according to autosport.com:

“All the [post-race] fireworks went off and the engine obviously wanted to join in…I think that the engine will be a coffee table in the future – that’s three out of four now for Daniel. He’ll be on engine four in Barcelona.”
