With freezing rain or snow stretching from Texas to New Jersey, it looks likethe hopes of a mild end to winterhas turned its back on the country.

Here's a look at some of the craziest winter weather stories being shared on social media. Share your pictures and stories with @USATODAY as the storm unfolds.

New York

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for New York City, Long Island and parts of New Jersey until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

At LaGuardia Airport a plane skidded off a runway and into a snowbank, three minor injuries were according to the New Jersey and New York and New York Port Authority dispatchers.

Kentucky

In Kentucky where 20 inches of snow fell in some areas, one person tweeted that they were stuck on Interstate 65 for hours with, 'each individual car snowed in.'

West Virginia

The National Weather Service Southern Region tweeted that you can see the winter storm's path by traffic delays.

Texas

A winter storm warning was in effect in Northern Texas until noon on Thursday where hundreds of flights were cancelled and schools closed.

Washington, D.C.

New Englanders where snow has dropped in record amounts still don't understand why everyone is freaking out.

And in case you were wondering, it's down-right tropical in Florida.
