Miley Cyrus performs onstage during the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards at Microsoft Theater on Aug. 30, 2015, in Los Angeles. The pop star announced a surprise album during the show.

Miley Cyrus left little to the imagination with her barely-there outfits at the MTV Video Music Awards, but the outlandish host did have one surprise up her sleeve.

Performing new song Dooo It at the tail-end of Sunday night's show, the 22-year-old announced a free album, Miley Cyrus and her Dead Petz, now streaming on her website, mileycyrus.com.

The 23-track album, which blends psychedelic and hip-hop elements, was primarily written and recorded with Wayne Coyne and the Flaming Lips. It features production by Cyrus' Bangerz album collaborator Mike Will Made It and includes collaborations with Big Sean, Ariel Pink and Phantogram's Sarah Barthel.

The title references the deaths of her Alaskan Klee Kai dog Floyd, who died last year, and her late blowfish, Pablow, whom she sang about in a backyard music session earlier this summer. Cyrus has numerous other pets — dogs, a cat and pig, among them — which she frequently shows off on Instagram.

Dead Petz is streaming in full on SoundCloud. Cyrus also released a glittery, paint-splattered (and very NSFW) video for Dooo It.
