Louis on the edge, Taylor on the ball
USA TODAY's Carly Mallenbaum digs through the latest celebrity news for highlights ... and lowlights. Think high school yearbook superlatives — if Taylor Swift and Louis C.K. were classmates.
Best hypewoman for herself: Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift knows how to tease a clip. Ahead of the premiere of the music video for 'Bad Blood,' Swift tweeted out pictures of her star-studded cast on movie posters, shared a customized emoji which fit the song's lyric "band-aids don't fix bullet holes" and debuted her action-adventure short film at the Billboard Music Awards. Of course, the song was trending on Twitter afterward.
Most likely to put the media in their place: Cate Blanchett
Blanchett was in the news recently for saying she had relationships with women "many times." However, as the actress clarified at Cannes Film Festival, she didn't mean she had sexual relationships with women. "But that (last part) obviously didn't make into print," said Blanchett at a press conference for her film 'Carol.' "In 2015, the point should be, 'Who cares?'" she said. "Call me old-fashioned, but I thought one's job as an actor was not to present one's boring, small, microscopic universe."
Controversial class clown: Louis C.K.
Comedian Louis C.K. hosted the finale of 'Saturday Night Live.' He didn't end the 40th season quietly. During his opening monologue, he made jokes on controversial topics ranging from "mild racism" to Middle Eastern conflict and how child molesters are "very tenacious people." e had a feeling he might not be asked back on this host. After the audience made an audibly shocked reaction to a joke comparing his love for Mounds Bars to a pedophile's love for children, he said, "How do you think I feel? This is my last show, probably.
Best at making a cameo: Keegan-Michael Key
It feels like actor Keegan-Michael Key is everywhere these days, and we're not upset about it. Of course, there's his hit show 'Key & Peele.' The was also his appearance at the White House Correspondents' Dinner as President Obama's anger translator. And now he's on the big screen in two separate roles: He plays a sassy record producer in 'Pitch Perfect 2' and a nerdy store clerk in 'Tomorrowland.' Can he just have a part in every movie?
Most likely to have a cooler party to go to: Beyonce
No, Queen Bey did not show up to the Billboard Music Awards, because she had other plans. The superstar was busy attending husband Jay Z's TIDAL-sponsored concert in New York City Sunday, instead, and dancing in a private section. She probably didn't even notice that didn't win any BBMAs.
