Wizards' John Wall 'day-to-day' after missing Game 2 with wrist injury
Washington Wizards coach Randy Wittman said star point guard John Wall will be listed as "day-to-day" after missing Game 2 with a left wrist injury. The Atlanta Hawks evened the series 1-1 with a 106-90 victory on Tuesday.
Wall was placed on the inactive list shortly before the game began, a surprise considering both Wall and Wittman believed he would play, saying so in Tuesday's shootaround.
"The swelling was too much for him to handle tonight," Wittman said after the Game 2 loss. Wall said he had trouble dribbling before the game.
Wall suffered the left wrist injury in the Wizards' 104-98 Game 1 victory — on a fast break that ended with an awkward fall and kept him on the floor for several minutes. His wrist swelled up during the last few days in between games and he wore a soft brace.
Ramon Sessions started at the point in place of Wall. There is now a three-day break until Game 3, giving Wall more rest to be ready in D.C.
Wall is averaging 17.4 points and 12.6 assists in the postseason. He had 18 points and 13 assists against Atlanta in Game 1.
