Grumpy Cat to become wax figure

Not sure, judging by her moody expression, if Grumpy Cat is pleased with this news.

But she's about to join the ranks of Beyonce, Michael Jackson and Angelina Jolie to become the first feline wax figure at Madame Tussauds.

The Grumpy Cat waxwork will be an animatronic figure with five different movements. The replica will be unveiled at Madame Tussauds in San Francisco this fall, and will tour locations around the country.

"This is truly an honor …" Grumpy Cat said in a statement. "I hate it."

Grumpy Cat "tolerated" the Madame Tussauds studios team to measure her for the animated figure. The YouTube video posted on August 26 shows a poker-faced cat being poked and prodded by figure sculptors.

The unimpressed kitty, with nearly 300,000 Twitter followers, shot to fame in 2012 after her photo was posted on Reddit. Real name is Tardar Sauce.

Later came a series of memes, a best-selling book, stuffed animals, a coffee drink and a gig as a spokes cat for Friskies. She has won awards from MSNBC, Buzzfeed and Friskies; stars in a line of merchandise, a book and the documentary "Lil Bub & Friendz" with fellow celebrity cat Lil Bub.
