Home Free goes down home on their forthcoming Country Evolution album with a medley blending country hits from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Little Big Town.

The Sing-Off winners' a cappella rendition of the Dirt Band's 1987 smash Fishin' in the Dark and Little Big Town's 2005 hit Boondocks premieres at USA TODAY.

"When we started brainstorming about what songs evoke the spirit we want to convey on our new album, we thought, 'What are some of country's biggest hits?'" high tenor Austin Brown says. "Why not Fishin' in the Dark with something more recent? Little Big Town's Boondocks!' You wouldn't think the styles would really mesh, but they do. We messed around with them for a few weeks and they're great together."

Country Evolution, out Sept. 18, is the group's third album since winning NBC's The Sing-Off in 2013. The album contains four original songs, as well as covers of Dolly Parton's 9 to 5, Garth Brooks' Friends in Low Places, Andy Grammer's Honey, I'm Good and a medley of hits by country group Alabama. The album also includes a versions of Elvira sung with the Oak Ridge Boys and The Devil Went Down to Georgia with Charlie Daniels and YouTube star Taylor Davis.

Home Free will begin its fall tour Sept. 14 in New Brunswick and also has a holiday tour in the works.
