Buy a Sofritas burrito on Jan. 26 and get a free entree during your next visit between Jan. 27 and Feb. 28.

Free Chipotle alert!

The much-loved fast-casual burrito chain has rolled out quite a deal for vegans and carnivores alike: On Jan. 26, order Chipotle's newest protein option, organic tofu Sofritas, and get your next entree free.

That's right — save the receipt from your Jan. 26 Sofritas purchase, and you have between Jan. 27 and Feb. 28 to show it at any U.S. location for a free burrito, bowl, salad or order of tacos.

Sofritas are made with organic tofu from Hodo Soy that's shredded and braised with chipotle chilis, roasted poblanos and spices, according to the Chipotle website. They're a hearty protein option for vegan patrons of the chain.

Last February, Chipotle began rolling out the vegan protein option nationally, after a successful test in the Pacific Northwest.

It was a big win for vegans (people who do not eat any animal byproducts.) "Having a major chain feature a vegan entree on their menu is a major deal," Jasmijn de Boo, president of the Vegan Society, told USA TODAY at the time.

Chipotle is calling Jan. 26 Sofritas Monday, but this carnivore will be calling it free delicious Mexican-inspired food heaven day. If only the Coronas were gratis, too.
