Referees gift St. John's a 3-pointer after shot clock had expired against Duke

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski is trying to win his 1,000th career game in Madison Square Garden Sunday against St. John’s, but the Blue Devils trail by four points at halftime. The Red Storm shot 54% from the field in the first half, and D’Angelo Harrison gave St. Johns a little bit of breathing room in the final few seconds with a 3-pointer that should not have counted.

Replays showed that the ball was still in Harrison’s hand as the shot clock had run down to zero and the red lights on the backboard were lit, but officials missed the call and by rule couldn’t review it.

Coach K was livid, and former Blue Devils star Jay Williams went off on Twitter.
