VENICE BEACH, Calif. - Imagine a world in which CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox shows are all only available on demand, and the days of appointment TV is over.

Think about it--you'd turn on network TV and just see a menu of shows. Click the ones you want to watch--and pay for, no doubt.

Netflix boss Reed Hastings said it this week--linear TV will be replaced by internet Television by 2025.

Hasting's comments came after Netflix's record breaking quarterly results, in which the online network added 4.9 million new subscribers, bringing its tally to just over 60 million. Meanwhile, HBO now offers the ability to watch the network without subscribing to cable TV, via its HBO Now app, and CBS has dipped its toes into the water with the CBS All Access on-demand service.

So on our weekend Talking Tech Roundtable podcast, we dive into Hasting's prediction and take a peek at what our viewing world might look like in the years to come.

Folks going to stores to find the new Apple Watch will find that it's not available. What kind of launch is that?
