Chrysler Group recalled 184,186 of its 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokees and Dodge Durangos because stability control might not work. A 2014 Grand Cherokee is shown.

Chrysler Group is recalling Jeep and Dodge SUVs globally because their stability controls might not work and heavy-duty and commercial vehicles because their diesel-fuel heaters might get too hot.

Chrysler, a unit of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, says it knows of now accidents, injuries or fires resulting from either problem.

The stability control recall is for 184,186 of the 2014 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs. An estimated 132,223 are in the U.S., 8,871 are in Canada, 4,742 are in Mexico and 38,350 are outside the North America.

Chrysler said it discovered a debris cover protecting a circuit board could inadvertently disrupt signals and disable the stability control.

Owners will be notified next month and told later when they can schedule service. Chrysler will pay.

The fuel heater recall involves vehicles equipped with the 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engine. It follows an investigation of two cases in which fuel-heater housings showed signs of overheating.

Affected are 2010-2014 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups, and 4500 and 5500 chassis cabs. An estimated 314,704 are in the U.S.; 59,432 are in Canada; 1,803 are in Mexico and 5,937 are outside North America.

The Cummins diesel is different from the 3-liter diesel in the Ram 1500, which is not involved in the recall.

Owners of the recalled models will be notified by Chrysler Group and told when they can schedule repairs.

Technicians will install new terminals made from upgraded material. Fuel-heater housings will be inspected and be replaced if they leak. Owners won't have to pay.
