Eagles veteran says Tim Tebow will make the team

Lost in all the hullabaloo about Deflategate, Tom Brady’s reaction to Deflategate, Roger Goodell’s involvement in Deflategate, Robert Kraft’s U-turn on Deflategate, the court cases related to Deflategate and how awesome that new Mission Impossible movie looks is the training camp tale of one Timothy Richard Tebow who, if you can remember all the way back to May, signed with Chip Kelly’s motley crew in Philadelphia, to much laughter, finger pointing and admiration of abdominal muscles.

So, most people figured Tebow was just a training-camp attraction, someone who would steal some headlines away from Chip Kelly’s belief that he can ride Sam Bradford and his lack of ligaments to the Super Bowl before being cut prior to the season.

Not so fast says six-year Eagles veteran Brandon Graham. He told Lauren Beasley of Hot 107.5 in Detroit (a station that was playing a Chris Brown song when I tuned in just now) that he thinks Timothy Richard is going to make the team. For real. Like, he’s not joking.

“Tim Tebow is going to shock a lot of people, because he is going to make the team. And I think he will play a lot.”

I mean, maybe Graham is joking because 70% of all things said about Tebow in reference to his NFL career are jokes and it’d be pretty funny to do so, but what if Graham isn’t kidding around? It’s not unreasonable to think that Sam Bradford tears an ACL while crawling into bed one night and that, in his stead, Mark Sanchez throws six interceptions against the Cowboys. All of that would leave the door open for Mr. Tebow, given a second chance at NFL life and, in turn, uniting America once more.
