League justice was swift against New York Rangers forward Tanner Glass.
He was caught on camera at the end of Saturday’s 4-2 loss hitting Boston Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid in the face with the butt end of his stick.
Less than four hours later, the NHL announced that it was fining him the maximum $3,897.85 for the infraction.
Glass, who had been checked by McQuaid, grabbed the defenseman by the jersey then used his other hand to hit him with the stick.
Glass received a five-minute major and a game misconduct.
