After the Spartans secured their spot in the Final Four — an unlikely feat for a seven-seed team that wasn’t expected to advance far in the tournament this year — Tom Izzo had an important message for them: “Two hours of work, 60 years of memory. 60 years of enjoyment.”
“Sometimes you guys drive me nuts, but I love you,” he added. “I love you guys, I appreciate what you did. And hey, you got this far, we’re a team of destiny.”
The Spartans are set to face off against Duke on Saturday in what should be a battle of two of the greatest college coaches in NCAA history.
