Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski became the first coach in NCAA men’s basketball history to win 1,000 games Sunday after the Blue Devils stormed back in the second half to beat St. John’s at Madison Square Garden. Duke was down for much of the game, but a key 17-4 run starting with 10 minutes remaining gave Duke the lead, and a late 3-pointer from Tyus Jones sealed the game.
After the game, Coach K’s former players congratulated him on Twitter.
