Sarah Michelle Gellar, with executive producer Dave Filoni, will have a recurring voice-over role in the second season of "Star Wars Rebels."

The Force is strong in this Hollywood household.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has signed on to play a recurring role in the second season of the Disney XD animated show Star Wars Rebels, which stars her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr. Prinze is a series regular as the Jedi Kanan, but Gellar's character has yet to be announced.

The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress is a "true Star Wars Rebels fan, and her passion undoubtedly comes through in the voice-recording sessions," executive producer Dave Filoni said in a statement.

Gellar joins a voice cast featuring Prinze, Vanessa Marshall, Steve Blum, Taylor Gray, Tiya Sircar and Golden Globe nominee David Oyelowo. The season finale of Star Wars Rebels on Monday night set up the next round of Rebels episodes (expected later this year) that will showcase the returns of Jedi Ahsoka Tano and Sith lord Darth Vader.
