Russell Westbrook had 34 points and 11 assists and five rebounds and five steals Thursday. It was Christmas, and the Oklahoma City Thunder were playing the San Antonio Spurs. And they won 114-106 against the team that knocked them out of the Western Conference finals.

He wore glorious shoes.

He took impossible shots.

And sure, he missed some. Westbrook finished 14-for-28, though, which is pretty good with Kevin Durant out of the lineup again.

He hounded on defense.

Westbrook has greatly improved on this end this season, one of the reasons some are pushing his MVP candidacy. Those five steals were one thing, but he also limited what Tony Parker (shown) and Cory Joseph could do in creating for the Spurs.

He hit the court hard.

Things will happen when you play the game this hard.

He was unstoppable.

What do you do against that midrange jumper? Westbrook was plus 27 in a game his team won by eight. If that seems ridiculous, it’s because it is.

He screamed.
