14-day running tally: 23,433 cancellations, 62,355 delays
The past two weeks have been a weather nightmare for many air travelers as a seemingly endless series of storms have tracked across the nation.
Since last Saturday (Feb. 21), airlines have canceled at least 1,000 flights every day but one, according to data provided by flight-tracking service FlightAware.
During that time, airlines have grounded a cumulative total 23,433 U.S. flights over a two-week period. And more than 62,355 flights have suffered delays during that same window.
There are about 23,000 scheduled flights in the U.S. on a typical winter weekday schedule, according to FlightAware.
