Actress Patricia Arquette is writing a memoir.

First an Oscar, now a memoir.

Random House announced Wednesday it has signed a book by Patricia Arquette, who won an Academy Award for Boyhood and made a splash with her acceptance speech at the Oscars.

The memoir will deal with "her unconventional family, being a single mother at the age of 20, and her experience as a woman in Hollywood," according to the publisher.

No title or publication date yet.

In a statement released by the publisher, Arquette said: "Over the years, the public has come to know aspects of me through my roles in film and television. Writing a memoir will be a new and intimate artistic journey for me, and I hope to bring to it the same honesty I have always sought to bring to my work as an actor."

Arquette became a flashpoint at the Oscars when she called for wage equality for women, which won cheers from Meryl Streep. But remarks she made backstage pushed the Twitter-sphere into high gear and caused a backlash.

"It's inexcusable we go around the world talking about equal rights for women in other countries ... and we don't have equal rights for women in America. The truth is even though we sort of feel like we have equal rights in America, there are huge issues that are at play that really do affect women. It's time for all … the gay people and people of color that we've all fought for to fight for us now."

In the news release Random House publisher Susan Kamil said: "Patricia Arquette is a remarkable woman and the instant empathy audiences feel when they see her work on screen is completely evident on the page. The material I read is revelatory and deeply moving. Not a surprise from an actress of such nuance and intelligence."

Arquette, 46, currently stars in CSI: Cyber on CBS.
