Investors don't like their stock. Lawmakers disapprove of how they manage their corporate taxes. Now, Apple must contend with television viewers who have reportedly been giving their latest spots the collective thumbs down.

According to Ad Age, Apple's latest commercial featuring consumers enjoying its array of products is their worst this year. The report cites Ace Metrix, a company that breaks down how effective TV ads are based on viewer surveys.

"This is it. This is what matters. The experience of a product," says a narrator kicking off the 60-second ad that features people using a variety of Apple products.

However, the ad rated below the industry average and among the worst ads Apple launched this year.

"In a manifesto ad, it's hard not to come across as self indulgent," Boston University professor of advertising Edward Boches tells Ad Age. "And even though it suggests the wonderful things Apple products can do, the ad lacks joy."

Apple has been known for several memorable ad campaigns, including the "Mac vs. PC" endeavor and their iconic "1984" Super Bowl ad.

Meanwhile, Apple fans and investors wait patiently for the company to reveal its next device. Several published reports claim Apple will launch a new iPhone and iPad later this year.
