Faith Hill and Tim McGraw attended the Academy Awards on Feb. 22.

You had to squint to see it, but at the Oscars recently, Faith Hill had a small scar on her neck.

Fans wondered whether the country superstar had undergone surgery.

Hill's rep, Kelly Russell, confirms to USA TODAY that the country star had neck surgery last month to correct damage stemming from an injury a couple of years ago.

People had the report first, detailing the procedure as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, which is generally used to relieve pain from a herniated disc.

It didn't stop Hill from enjoying Oscars night. She accompanied husband Tim McGraw to the show, where McGraw gave an emotional performance of Glen Campbell's hit I'm Not Gonna Miss You.

The performance earned praise from critics, big and small. "There was a big sign all our kids had made for me that said 'Good Job Dad,' " McGraw told USA TODAY. "That was pretty nice to walk home to."

Afterward, it was time to party. The power couple hit the Governors Ball and the Vanity Fair bash — and even considered a third stop.

"We finally just looked at each other and said, 'You know what, I think it's bedtime.' So we turned around and went (to the hotel) and went to bed," said McGraw. "But we enjoyed the parties."
