Rory McIlroy rang in 2014 in style. The golf superstar proposed to longtime girlfriend and former tennis No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki after the clock struck midnight in Sydney, Australia.

McIlroy and Wozniacki began dating in the summer of 2011, after the golfer split with his former girlfriend. They were first spotted sharing dinner in London and soon began a much-publicized romance. Though Irish tabloids frequently report false rumors of break-ups, the couple has dated for 2.5 years and are a frequent presence at each other’s sporting events.
