New shark species 'walks' across ocean floor
USATODAY
Of course this shark swims, but this shark also walks.
Conservation International and AFPTV shares video of the Epaulette shark, discovered in Indonesia, which uses its fins to walk across the sea bed.
The shark's four fins are placed in a position similar to a reptile's legs, allowing the fish to manuever over the lumpy reef terrain.
Over the sandy ocean floor, the shark uses its tail to swim in a more-traditional shark fashion.
