It was a confusing game, but this much is simple: Columbia Law School grad Andrew Kravis, 25, won $2.6 million on Thursday night.

He was the champ of NBC's live game show The Million Second Quiz, hosted by Ryan Seacrest. NBC had hoped the 11-day stunt show would repeat the 1999 success of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? But ratings sank as the show aired.

Kravis, who defeated NYU student Brandon Saunders in the final trivia round, is from Farmington Hills, Mich. He spent more than 250 hours on the game show's "Winner's Row."

Kravis had won $326,346 during his time on The Million Second Quiz. He added $2 million and a bonus for being the champ, bringing the total to $2.6 million, the highest grand prize in game show history, according to NBC.

"This is all really incredible," said Kravis after his win. "I want to pay off my student loans and then maybe take a trip to Europe."
