If putting an eye in the sky gives you vertigo and you'd rather keep your feet on the ground, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1R will let you capture the world in stunning clarity. Sony packed a 24-megapixel lens onto a compact full-frame design and the result is an über-powerful photo machine with amazing low-light performance and an equally breath-taking price tag of $2,799.

3D printing is capturing the imagination of the world — I mean how else can you conjure an item up out of thin air just by pushing a button? That's why the Ultimaker 2 makes us downright giddy. Once you put a design file in, it whips up heated plastic into whatever you've dreamed up.

With more than 100,000 free templates online, and an endless number waiting for you to invent them, there's no shortage of great things to make. It's like your own little factory that can pump out toys, tools, models, prototypes, and all kinds of other goodies, for $2,599.

If crafting the perfect draft is more your creative outlet, the $1,599 (for a limited time through their Kickstarter page) PicoBrew Zymatic promises to automatically brew beer in four hours and stands in as a sous-vide machine. It also features a predictive recipe tool for those of you with an inventive streak, and it'll keep your homemade creations from getting completely out of hand. The final product — assuming you put the correct ingredients in, of course — is some seriously tasty suds that'll make you think you're seated at a quaint little pub.

Need to get away? The Rogue C6 is a bionic bicycle that's probably smarter than the car in your driveway. Integrated lights in the seat post and handlebars, iOS connectivity to show speed, cadence, elevation, and navigation, and a super lightweight carbon fiber frame put this two-wheel speed demon in a class of its own. For $1,950 you get a Shimano Alfine hydraulic brake system, eight-speed gearing, dual platform pedals that accept both cleats and shoes… oh, I'm sorry, was I swooning?

I certainly would be behind the wheel of one of the ultimate luxury gadget gifts: The latest Tesla Model S. This seriously connected car gets the most range of any electric car on the market, 60mph in less than five seconds, and grippy, balanced handling in the turns with the Performance Plus trim. It comes equipped with a new driver assistance system that helps you safely change lanes and feature adaptive cruise. Of course, such luxury comes with an equally flashy price tag of $70,000 and up.

For some of us, taking Apple's new 5K Retina iMac for a spin is also a major thrill. The HDTV in your living room has a little over two million pixels, and it looks pretty darn great, right? Apple's new 27-inch iMac has 14.7 million. Everything from photo editing to watching Netflix movies takes on a whole new level of awesome when you're doing it on the highest resolution screen Apple has ever created, and it's more than worth the $2,499 starting price. Yes, it's probably overkill for anything less than rendering a new Pixar movie. But that's the point, right?

That's a good thing, because at a whopping $6,999 you probably won't want to be re-buying all your movies again, too.

For splurge that fits in your pocket you can add some serious security to your personal finances with the Biometric Wallet.
