Snap Shot: What the College Football Playoff would look like NOW

As the 16th and final season of the BCS era is underway, we brace ourselves for the four-team playoff set-up in 2014. Sure, the playoff is going to be awesome, but do you think it’s going remove debate from the college football equation? Hardly.

The USA TODAY Sports college football staff is starting the party early with its recent launch to Football Four, a platform helping die-hard fans capture and quantify the debates that lead us into the postseason.

Every week, the college football staff produces a Playoff Projection (based on panelists votes) with the intention to show what the College Football Playoff pairings might be if they were to be set today. This is purely a mock selection with no bearing on any official polls, rankings or standings.

Since sometimes it’s difficult to imagine, so here’s a visual to help show what we’ll be discussing next season:
