Report: Jayson Werth will spend five days in jail for reckless driving

According to Justin Jouvenal of the Washington Post, Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth will spend five days in jail:

Werth was originally sentenced to ten days for reckless driving in December, but ultimately settled for a five-day jail stint after when he pled guilty on Thursday. He was pulled over in July for driving 105 mph in a 55-mph zone in on I-495 in Virginia.

Werth is a rich, famous guy, so he might get cushy treatment by jail standards, but he will likely have to face the real possibility he’s not the most intimidating dude in a room for the first time since he grew his beard out. It’s not yet clear when Werth will serve his sentence, or if a player can go on the disabled list for being in jail.
