Week 1 of the college football season is in the books, and the opening games didn’t disappoint. There were upsets, blowouts, close games and record-setting performances.

Here a look at college football’s opening weekend by the numbers.

Troy’s Corey Robinson completed 93.8% of his passes (30-for-32) against UAB. That’s the highest single-game completion percentage in Football Bowl Subdivision history for a player with a minimum of 30 completions.

Purdue lost to Cincinnati by 35 points, which is the largest loss by a Big Ten team in a season opener since Northwestern lost to Air Force by 49 points in 2002. After the game, Purdue quarterback Rob Henry apologized to fans and quit Twitter.

 

 

No. 3 Oregon put up 772 total offensive yards against Nicholls State (272 passing and 500 rushing), which is the most in school history.

No. 8 Clemson beat No. 5 Georgia 38-35. This marked the fourth time since the beginning of 2011 that the Tigers have beat a ranked Southeastern Conference opponent.

 

 

The 13th-ranked LSU Tigers, who beat TCU 37-27, are undefeated in non-conference regular-season games under Les Miles.
