A 5-year-old Ohio State fan sent UAB his allowance to try and save the football program

When 5-year-old Ohio State fan Bennett found out that UAB would be shutting down its football program, he asked his parents how much money the university needed to keep it running. Bennett decided to write a note and send it to UAB, and he included his dollar allowance to help keep the Blazers on the field.

“Dear UAB,

My name is Bennett. I love Ohio State. But I think you should have football too. Here is one dollar to help.

–Bennett”

The UAB athletics department got the note and sent Bennett a few gifts for his amazing act of kindness.

Via AL.com:

“Bennett got a care package with an official game ball, two shirts, a hat, bumper sticker, some tattoos, buttons, and a signed picture of the mascot, BLAZE. The best thing he got was a letter written to him from the contact in the athletic department. It thanked Bennett and said he made some people happy down there. He also went on to say they all agreed that Bennett was UAB’s No. 1 fan in Ohio.”
