Qatar Airways became the world's first airline to fly away with the Airbus A350 on Tuesday. The jet is the newest model to roll off the production line of the European jetmaker. It's also the first entirely new aircraft type from the world's two big aircraft makers since Boeing's first 787 "Dreamliner" delivery in 2011. Tuesday's delivery flight follows a splashy handover ceremony on Monday at Airbus' assembly line in Toulouse, France.

Curious what it was like to be on that Tuesday delivery flight ? If so, you're in luck. Today in the Sky contributor Jeremy Dwyer-Lindgren was onboard that flight and chronicled the landmark trip in photographs. Click through the gallery above to see all the key moments from takeoff in Toulouse to touchdown at Qatar Airways' hub in Doha.

And be sure to check out the gallery below for a full photo recap of Monday's handover ceremony in Toulouse.
